October delight

We have had an AH-MAZING October up here in the great white north! Temps have been delightfully fall-ish, but don't threaten of the season ahead near as much as typical come this time of year!!

It has been great for work, work, working on the new house.... AND for playing outside!

This is one of the benefits of homeschooling... we can pick up Larren from school, grab some lunch and all head to the park for the afternoon!

Maybe, just maybe, November will get wind of the trend!! I'm not ready for the white fluffy stuff yet!! Or the crazy cold temps that come along with it!

Second Grade and the Second Starts School

Can you believe it? Two little ladies in school?

Alia is starting second grade this fall, and it's always a mix of exciting and nervous all rolled into one! Though this year is looking a little different than in years past!

Her day still starts with Bible time, but instead of the principal it's her mama doing the reading.... her desk is the dining room table and she's trading in bus rides for a short, SHORT commute. Yup, we are homeschooling this year and so far we're loving it!!! It has gone better than anticipated and we are learning all sorts together! What a joy to have such a bright and willing pupil!

Larren is going to our beloved school in town and has our neighbor as her kindergarten teacher... just like Alia did!

Thankfully Larren only goes to school until noon... so it gives plenty of sister play time in the afternoons!

And plenty of kitty cuddling time too, of course!

Larren's best friend is also in her class and on her bus... so the two can be brave buddies together!

Our school takes it slow... with a transition day first (only 1/3 of the class is there) followed a couple days later by the full first day. We took it even slower by waiting a couple days to integrate riding the bus! (More for mama's sake than for Larren's possibly!)

It was a full family affair taking her to the bus stop that first time!

Again, SO thankful that Larren has a Jesus loving, super sweet, buddy to weather the new course with!

She was doing good until it actually came time to leave us and get on the bus....

... but she recovered quickly and off she went!!!

There was somebody special who left his school over lunch hour so come see how her first day went!!

And here she is... looking so so small... in front of HER school!!!

What a blessing on both hands! We have such a fantastic school for Larren and we are also able to spend more time with Alia... it's a win win!

Little Meow Meow's

So what's your guess? Have the little meow meow's been a big thumbs up at our house?

Or not?!?!

Breaking It In

As some of you may know, we bought two acres right on the edge of our little beloved community! Long story short, it's been about 3 years in the making, and phew.... it feels good to actually have some idea as to what we're doing!

We invited our fellow friends and "family" over from our little thriving metropolis to have a bonfire... cause what better way to break in a place than with a bonfire, eh?!?

It's so close to our current home that the girls can walk, ride bikes, ride the four wheeler, or ride in the back of daddy's truck to get there!

They set up their lawn chairs.... and then were OFF like a shot to go exploring in "their woods!"

Here... I'll give you a little tour.

This is the view to the east....

... and this is the view to the south...

... to the west...

... and to the north!

Two acres is just the right amount for us! It's not too much to mow... we're still able to go traveling every summer... and it's just enough woods for the kids to have their own space in!!

The food spread was simple... and the fellowship fun!

All in all we hope to make lots more memories at this place... one of the first ones = 16 ticks!!! Eek... I have a feeling I'm going to have to get over my legit tick fear real quick! I can't yell for Jonathan every time the girls or I have one... so here goes nothing!! :)

Sis-ta's

These...

... three...

... girls...

are growing up!!

And not only are they growing up...

... but they are growing in relationship with each other!!

And that ... well that simply warms a mama's heart!!

I love, that they love, being together... and my prayer is that they are always each others best friends!
