Can you believe it? Two little ladies in school?
Alia is starting second grade this fall, and it's always a mix of exciting and nervous all rolled into one! Though this year is looking a little different than in years past!
Her day still starts with Bible time, but instead of the principal it's her mama doing the reading.... her desk is the dining room table and she's trading in bus rides for a short, SHORT commute. Yup, we are homeschooling this year and so far we're loving it!!! It has gone better than anticipated and we are learning all sorts together! What a joy to have such a bright and willing pupil!
Larren is going to our beloved school in town and has our neighbor as her kindergarten teacher... just like Alia did!
Thankfully Larren only goes to school until noon... so it gives plenty of sister play time in the afternoons!
And plenty of kitty cuddling time too, of course!
Larren's best friend is also in her class and on her bus... so the two can be brave buddies together!
Our school takes it slow... with a transition day first (only 1/3 of the class is there) followed a couple days later by the full first day. We took it even slower by waiting a couple days to integrate riding the bus! (More for mama's sake than for Larren's possibly!)
It was a full family affair taking her to the bus stop that first time!
Again, SO thankful that Larren has a Jesus loving, super sweet, buddy to weather the new course with!
She was doing good until it actually came time to leave us and get on the bus....
... but she recovered quickly and off she went!!!
There was somebody special who left his school over lunch hour so come see how her first day went!!
And here she is... looking so so small... in front of HER school!!!
What a blessing on both hands! We have such a fantastic school for Larren and we are also able to spend more time with Alia... it's a win win!
