Toddling

I'm a bit slow in posting this, but Caidrie went from this...

... to this...

... to this!

Sorry about the crazy mom cheers! We get excited about the little things around here!

What's the Saying?

If the tool belt fits...

(even if it has to be wrapped around 3 times!)

... wear it! Or something along those lines!

This here monkey...

... is now into EVERYTHING!

And this here self appointed sister's keeper...

 ... just can't catch a moment's rest!

If it's not climbing on the table, it's climbing up the stairs, or unrolling the toilet paper, or getting stuck in the towel drawer, or.... well, let's just say our house has certainly got a lot busier lately!

Daddy Daughter Date

Last Saturday Jon had a special morning planned for our oldest princess. He whispered in her ear the night before that they were having a Daddy daughter date the next day... and the rooster had hardly crowed when one excited little lady was up to see what he had in store!

She carefully chose her own outfit... her "Every one loves a Canadian girl" shirt, play leggings, an athletic skirt, and fringe boots! :) Oh, and her strawberry heart necklace and "bling belt" to complete the ensemble!

I'm not gonna lie... she's never left the house in such attire before, but if you can't wear fringe boots and an athletic skirt at four years old, when can you, I ask?!?

Not only was Daddy taking her on a date...

(Oh... and we had someone who REALLY REALLY wanted to go too, any guesses?!)

... but he was picking her up in style!

Larren tried one last attempt to go too...

(I LOVE her little tights tush! It was the day of interesting outfits, I guess!)

... but after the promise that she would get a date with Daddy NEXT Saturday, and that she got to help Mommy make a dessert while sister was away... the tears got a little less.

My favorite part of the morning?!

Watching Alia's little head bob along in the middle, next to her Daddy, as they drove away... knowing, without a doubt, that she is one blessed, BLESSED, little gal.

If There's a Dusting...

... then there's snowmobiling!

We got the tiniest amount of snow this weekend, and by golly, that's enough for the girls!

At the first possible moment they donned their snow suits...

 ... their mittens...

 ... their fuzzy toques...

... and were out the door with Daddy!

See, I wasn't kidding... there wasn't much snow to speak of!

But, it doesn't take too much convincing for Daddy to get the sleds out of the garage! :)

Caider and Me

The two big girls were asked to spend the night at Nana Betty's the other night, so the next morning I found myself in a really, really quiet house! And they ended up being gone all day... so that really, really quiet morning turned into a really, really quiet DAY!

Don't get me wrong, Caidrie was her normal self... but going from three kids to one kid, felt easy schmeasy! No fighting, or running up and down the halls, or "MOMMY, I'm DONE!" coming from the washroom, or "More water, please!" as I JUST sit down for lunch ... just the occasional pre-nap time crying from C.P. (Caidrie Praise) and smiles the rest of the day!

I didn't know what to do with myself! Caid and I went into town, but things took so much less time than they usually do that we were back in a Manitoba minute! Lunch was uneventful and then it was time for her to nap again! I mean yeah... I could have done all the house cleaning, and the laundry, and tackle that long to-do list, but... nah!

I read, I browsed the ole' inter web, and Caidrie and I simply spent time together!

She impressed me with her new standing skills...

... played with toys that are usually "sister swiped" right away...

... "cooked" up a storm...

... made me laugh with her funny faces...

... beat me in several races down the hallway...

... and endured my (unsuccessful) attempts to get a "Mommy and littlest lady" picture.

All in all a relaxed, lazy, loving day.

And it's the little things, like how she's always  "ready" with her foot tucked underneath her when she's playing, that make me smile. Those things that, sadly, get over looked as the youngest member of our family. It felt good to slow down, savor the quietness, get to know Caidrie a little more, and be ready to do the Mommy game again the next day!
